About RubFile
Last reviewed August 4, 2026
RubFile exists for one reason: file tasks are usually simple, and the tools for them usually are not. Choose a file, RubFile works out what it is, and offers only what genuinely applies to it.
The idea
Most file utilities ask you to understand codecs, quality sliders and format tables before you can shrink a photo for a form. RubFile inverts that: you say what you need — “fit under 200 KB”, “make this a PDF” — and it handles the rest.
On-device first
Everything that can run locally does run locally, because that is both faster and more private. An external service is used only where a phone genuinely cannot do the job — office documents to PDF — and only with your agreement.
Honest results
A result screen shows the real size before and after, whether the resolution survived, and where the work happened. If a tool cannot do something on your device, RubFile says so rather than offering a button that fails.
Built for many languages
RubFile ships in eleven languages, including full right-to-left support for Arabic, and works the same way on the web, as an installed web app, and as an Android and iOS application.
