Compress Image to Under 2 MB

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, BMP files only

25 MB

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Why forms ask for 2 MB

Many upload forms refuse anything larger than 2 MB, and a photo from a modern phone is several times bigger. That is why the first attempt fails.

Where you usually meet this limit: loan and claim documents, print-quality submissions, large form attachments.

Your width and height stay the same

RubFile keeps the original resolution by default. It reduces the file size instead of shrinking the picture.

If 2 MB genuinely cannot be reached at full resolution, RubFile says so and offers you the choice: keep the smallest full-resolution file it reached, or make the picture smaller. It never shrinks your photo quietly.

Nothing is uploaded

Everything happens inside your browser, on your device. Your file is not sent to RubFile, not stored and not shared, and camera or location details are not copied into the new file.

Common questions

How do I make an image under 2 MB?
Choose your image on this page. 2 MB is already selected, so press the compress button and download the result.
Will RubFile change my image dimensions?
No. Keeping the original width and height is the default, and the result screen states whether the resolution was kept.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs on your device in the browser, so the file never leaves it.
